Hand Saws
Rake, Fleam, Gullet; say what?

Florip Toolworks has taken the characteristics of what makes a good saw into an every day user with some flair.

Erik Florip has a line of custom dovetail, tennon, and crosscut saws available on his website.

Both saws sent feel well balanced.  The carbon fiber feels slighltly lighter than the brass backed one. The handles are very comfortable.

Meet Erik Florip

Erik Florip is a Marine and a family man who creates hand saws when he's not actively training or changing diapers.  He is a one man shop that specializes in unique hand saws.  When I say unique, I truly mean it.  In addition to a typical brass back he utilizes carbon fiber.  The handles are made from exotic woods like Bocote.  He states that it won't leave his shop until he feels it will make the user find joy when making a cut.

Take a closer look.

Here's a little teaser to show the saw in action. More to come.  I find that hand saws are a very personal choice.  One needs to consider the task as well as the comfort, size, weight, and shape of the handle.

I have massive hands being that I'm 6'-4" and over 250 pounds.  Side note: I need to lay off tri-tip, milkshakes, and fries.  The saw and my hands match up very well.

The brass back saw is 13 inches by 3 inches, not including the handle.

The carbon fiber back saw is 13.5 inches long by 4 inches, not including the handle.
